Protect Your Safety

A properly repaired windshield helps maintain the structural strength of your vehicle and reduces the risk of damage spreading. Contact Clear Road Auto Glass today to determine whether your windshield can be safely repaired.

ICBC Chip Repair Guidelines

If your vehicle has ICBC Comprehensive Coverage, windshield chip repairs are FREE, with no impact on your claims history or insurance premiums.

ICBC allows up to three chip repairs per windshield. If your windshield has more than three chips, ICBC considers it non-repairable and require windshield replacement instead.

To qualify for this free service, the following conditions must be met:

  • Your vehicle must have ICBC Comprehensive Coverage.

  • The windshield must have no more than three rock chips.

  • Each chip must be no larger than a loonie.

  • The damage must not be within the driver's line of sight (the area approximately defined by the width of the steering wheel).

  • The damage must not be located on or near any vehicle sensors or cameras.

  • The damage must not affect any heating elements, such as a heated wiper park area.

  • The chip must be at least 2 inches (5 cm) away from the edge of the windshield.

Not sure if your windshield qualifies? Contact Clear Road Auto Glass and we'll be happy to assess the damage and help you determine your options.
